Mutagens and Morphic Stability

Mutagens can ravage the unlucky in a Mutant Future campaign. How prone one si to a host of threats is dependent upon their morphic stability.  Pure Humans are not threatened by the mutagenic impact of radiation but even their genetic fortitude can be compromised by some mutagenic exposure.
Determine Morphic stability.

Score inside table is the character’s Morphic Stability

Known Mutagenics:
Radiation: as per the standard rules a character susceptible to radiation that fails 5 saves vs radiation in the same day will find themselves developing a new mutation.
Reconstructive-Virus: organic nano-warfare weapons gone rogue or never deactivated by a long dead military power.
Robotic Warfare Nanite: RW-Nanites are another weapon of the ancients. Microscopic robots that will attack cells and basic building blocks of devices.
Bio-Morphic Solvent: chemicals that attack the basic building-blocks of organic life.
Data-Virus: not a true mutagenic but it impacts artificial systems in a manner not unlike a mutagen

MSTB= Morphic stability
Pure Humans, Mutant Humans, Mutant Animals, Replicants, Masterminds, Mutaks, and Cyborgs are impacted by R.Virus mutations. Replicants and Mutant animals are considered to have a Morphic stability 3 points higher against the possibility of mutation. Pure Humans are allowed a secondary save to avoid developing a mutation, if this save fails they develop a mutation and are now a Mutant Human, they will retain HP and ability scores, their Moprhic Stability is lowered by 1 but in all other manners they are now a mutant.
Masterminds receive a second save to resist mutation by a R.Virus Attack strong enough to overcome their Morphic Stability.

Humans, Mutant Humans,Masterminds, and Mutant Animals are not impacted by  the mutational impact of RW-Nanites and only suffer half damage on a failed save, suffering no damage on a successful save. Plants are curiously impacted by high intensity RW-Nanites but the Class of any R.W.Nanites attacking a plant is considered 5 degrees weaker so no harm is suffered from class 1 to 5 by plants. Cyborgs treat all RW-Nanite attacks as 1 class lower. Mutaks distorted genetics do make them prone to RW-Nanites but they are considered to have a Morphic Stability 2 points higher.
Artifical Life will have Morphic Stability reduced by1 each time a "mutation" is suffered from a R.W. Nanite attack.

Bio-morphic solvent will harm all character types except for Basic Androids or Synthetics. Replicants treat Bio-Morphic Solvent as if it was 3 classes weaker. Cyborgs treat Bio-Morphic Solvent as 1 class weaker. Pure-Humans will not be mutated by Bio-Morphic solvent but it will damage their genetics reducing their Morphic stability by 1 if it would otherwise be powerful enough to cause mutation. Mutant Plants are as vulnerable to mutation as all other mutant types but will Morphic Stability will also be reduced by 1 point when so mutated.

Only Robots, Basic Androids, Synthetics, Cyborgs, and Replicants are impacted by Data-Virus attacks. Cyborgs are impacted by Data-Virus as if it were 2 intensity classes weaker. Damage is caused as ravaged code causes tech-modules to go berserk. “Mutations” gained by the Data-Virus attack will always be as mental mutations in nature. All android types and robots have a 10% chance of being a carrier per Data-Virus class level after failing a save.

Some of these mutagenics more readily create mutation then does radiation; fortunately most mutagenics are far less common. Mutagenics can be found polluting ancient sites, infesting unlucky NPCs or weaponized awaiting deployment in a variety of delivery systems.
